Okay so I have it backwards, but I wanted to put the biggest of the two first. And Frostcon was definitely the biggest. But I will write in order of events. Save time. But I'll start right from Friday for full coverage.

Friday

My friends and I started to head out to Toronto around 1:30 after stopping at Bulk Barn to pick up some candy for us to take to CosplayCanada's. It was me, Suns-Radiance, and stephie-thearrancar heading up. We missed all of the accidents that happened due to the weather. We were very lucky. The 80 car pileup in Oshawa happened just five minutes after we passed the spot. We were THAT lucky!

We arrived at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts around 4:35 (our time had been extended to 6, but we made it just past the original time!) and met up with CosplayCanada and Axel. We did what we needed to and headed out, bringing our Frostcon Head of Security Systems, Snowflake the Turret. Yes, we had a turret from Portal. We took him up to a northern part of the city, as he needed to do something with his dad very quickly. Afterwards we headed out to Mississauga. We took Dundas to get there, the 401 and Gardiner Expressway were clogged to the point of nothing was moving at all! It was insane. But the Dundas route was safe.

Was roughly 7:45 or so when we arrived at CosplayCanada's at last. We chatted for a bit and watched a little bit of Smackdown. I was the only girl interested :P We ended up watching Iron Man. Good movie, but I prefer other Marvel films. Even though my vote for a movie was for GI Joe. Eh..

But oh god, CosplayCanada and I did it again. We were up until 5am talking and quoting GI Joe. God we are such dorks.

Saturday

Haha, up at 9am :P At least there was more than two hours of sleep!

We had Gotham Central's One Year Anniversary Party this day. With some convincing from CosplayCanada, I debuted a new cosplay. Desk Job Maria Hill from The Avengers. He wanted me to be Maria since he was being Agent Phil Coulson. Which I was fine with. It was fun being Maria with him as Coulson :D We acted somewhat in character xD Suns-Radiance was Jean Grey & stephie-thearrancar was swag!Link.

I had the pleasure of seeing Erin Cossar and Toronto Joker again, and getting to meet Toronto Iron Man, Toronto Punisher, Toronto Bane, Dr StEvil, and The Ontario Ghostbusters! I was so happy that everyone in costume was willing to go outside into the cold for my milestone photo of 6,000. I wanted it to be special. And what could be more special than having some amazing villains and heroes and a few dear friends?

I did buy something while at the shop besides having some pizza and a cupcake (with Captain America's shield on it). I got myself a Cobra Commander bobblehead from GI Joe. It was a Funko Exclusive bobblehead made for San Diego Comic Con 2010. Only 240 in the world and I got one! I'm so happy I bought him~! I love Cobra Commander :iconbabalove:

We headed out to the venue for Frostcon to do some setup so that there would be less for us to do in the morning. It didn't take too long at least. We had help from venue staff so it made our lives a lot easier!

We got back a while later and did some con stuff. God I don't even remember if we ate dinner.... but I do know that CosplayCanada and I FINALLY went to bed at 3am!

Sunday - Frostcon 2013

This brought about quite a few new experiences.

One, this was my first time ever on staff for a con.
Two, this was the first year of said con.
Three, I had a lot of things to do on my part.

I am the official con photographer, much of my work comes before the con like running the website, doing passes, and approving media/press applications.

I spent much of the day taking pictures of people and doing the official photoshoots. The only shooting that was a touch annoying was Homestuck. They were a bit too loud to the point I had to tell them repeatedly to be quiet as there was a panel going on upstairs and that they were interrupting. I shot Homestuck, Kuroshitsuji, Rise of the Guardians, Marvel VS DC, and Doctor Who. Resident Evil was supposed to be there, but they never showed up.

I ended up joining the Toronto Superheroes vs Villains event hosted by Toronto Batman, but judged  by ZombaeCosplay as Deadpool. It was so cool to be up there with Toronto's heroes and villains. We all got along so awesomely! I was the newcomer there, the Belleville Joker. I now have made a Facebook page for that. Thanks CosplayCanada for making me a part of it.

My part of it was playing Rock, Paper, Scissors against Toronto Gambit. Even our dear con chair got dragged into it at the end when the heroes gained Black Widow and female Captain America. So we had to pull the Joker from the crowd and our con chair. Why our con chair? Because CosplayCanada was The Master from Doctor Who. Not really comic books, but he was still a villain and we needed it evened out.

I also did the photography panel with everage and Ariya Productions. I didn't talk much though, didn't get much chance to. Plus I was tired as fuck from being up at 6:30 and helping make the con flow smoothly.

At the end of the con I helped with all of the math and everything that needed to be done. Took a while.

What was left of staff went to dinner together. So it was myself, CosplayCanada, Suns-Radiance, stephie-thearrancar, AfterDark17 and Axel. We went to Jack Astor's for dinner. CosplayCanada couldn't figure out why the box I had was so important, which was a good thing.

We celebrated the success of the con with a few drinks. After dinner was over, Suns-Radiance and I went into the next booth with the box and pulled out the entire staff's surprise for CosplayCanada. Our waitress brought us sparklers and a lighter. It made it extra special. The moment we had our surprise set, and our sparklers lit, Suns-Radiance, stephie-thearrancar and I brought the surprise round to the table.

I presented him the cake saying "Anthony, for bringing us all together to create Frostcon, we present you with this. You worked so hard to make this con a success and it turned out better than we had expected. In addition for letting me, Steph, and Andrea stay with you for the weekend. And bonus, it's your favourite flavour. Thank you." His face was priceless and he looked so happy. I wish we had gotten a photo of him.

The cake was half chocolate, half vanilla. It was decorated to be themed around Frostcon. The main icing was light blue, the trim was dark blue, with white text and sugared snowflakes. The text on the cake simply said "Thank You Anthony". I'm so glad that the cake was such a pleasant surprise for him. I don't think anyone's done that for him before. At least not that I know of. Seriously man, you did an awesome job.

At the end of it all, we said goodbye to Axel and AfterDark17 and now the cake is all CosplayCanada's. He and I did the thank yous for the guests, attendees, etc on Twitter and Facebook.

Since Monday was mostly travel, won't cover it xD

But I'm glad that I was able to go to Gotham Central's party, and help with Frostcon. We will be back for a second year, and we intend to improve. I can't wait!
